Representative Cases
- Represented a tank car manufacturer in litigation that was filed in Louisiana and Mississippi as a result of a tank car explosion in Louisiana. The litigation lasted more than 10 years. After a three-and-a-half-month trial in Mississippi involving 4,000 plaintiffs, the tank car manufacturer was found not guilty. A three-month trial in Louisiana of a 16,000-person class action resulted in a finding of 10 percent liability.
- Represented a property owner and a management company in a Chicago porch collapse, which resulted in 13 deaths and numerous injuries. Case settled.
- Represented a scaffold installer sued as a result of a scaffold falling from a Chicago high-rise, the John Hancock building, resulting in the death of three people and injury to several others.
- Received a defense verdict in a class action suit where class members claimed Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome from use of a pneumatic tool in auto glass industry. Jury found tool defective but awarded class representatives no damages.
- Received defense verdicts in Illinois and North Dakota in cases where workers in farm equipment manufacturing and computer scrap business alleged bilateral Vibratory White Finger and Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome
