Scott D. Braun concentrates his area of practice in insurance coverage and has experience representing insurers and reinsurers located worldwide with respect to a diverse array of North American exposures. He offers his clients expert counseling on liability coverage for managed care entities, hospitals, nursing homes, legal errors and omissions, employment liability, insurance broker errors and omissions, and environmental and mass tort. Mr. Braun's experience in litigation includes representing clients at arbitration and in Illinois state and federal courts in a wide array of matters. His abilities as an attorney have earned him a number of distinctions including a spot in the 2007 edition of 40 Under Forty, a magazine published by Chicago Lawyer and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin which features 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch. Mr. Braun was also included on the 2011 Illinois Rising Stars list, published by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine which highlights outstanding young lawyers.

Mr. Braun is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.

Recent Litigation Matters:

  1. Obtained summary judgement on behalf of a large domestic liability insurer in a multimillion-dollar coverage dispute after successfully arguing the absence of any bodily injury or property damage.
  2. Received a defense verdict, following binding arbitration, on behalf of a real estate professional.
  3. Obtained early dismissal of a complaint against an attorney client after successfully arguing that the plaintiff's complaint failed to state a cause of action for legal malpractice.
